Ten months in a surgical ward specialising in Plastics, Vascular and ENT, specialised skills including:

  • Tracheostomy care including day one post op patients
  • Free flap nursing care
  • Routine surgical nursing including able to understand and escalate patient deterioration
  • Regular patient education including familiarity with drain tubes, chest tubes, long term IDC, PICC lines

Six month rotation in Palliative care, specialised skills including:

  • Syringe drive and effective pain management
  • Advocating, respecting and providing dignity towards patients through end of life care
  • Communication with family members particularly in a time of grief

Currently working in the Emergency Department for the last six months:

  • One to one collaboration with medical officers
