I was the successful applicant in a competitive process, allowing me to transfer my advanced skill, knowledge and experience in the areas of drug and alcohol and co morbidity. Working as an autonomous clinician and as part of the Emergency Department Team, this position is responsible for the provision of a timely and appropriate Consultation and Liaison Service in the specialist area of Drug and Alcohol to all clients of the Emergency Department and Critical Care Division. Demonstrating advanced skills in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of complex presentations relating to drug and alcohol and/or co-morbid mental health conditions. This role is an integral part of the team, providing ongoing education to staff of all disciplines to up skill their current levels of knowledge and experience when working in this challenging area of health.
Acting into this position on a 0.5FTE basis, alongside the 0.5 FTE position I held as Clinical Nurse Specialist Emergency Department Mental Health Liaison Team. Working alongside the current Clinical Nurse Specialist, I was responsible for the accurate and effective assessment and management of clients presenting to the general hospital with drug and alcohol issues.

Responsible for providing professional Mental Health consultation, liaison and care for clients with mental health problems presenting in the Emergency Department
