Winter Shelter Volunteer - Evening Shift

The Frankston Winter Shelter supports the vulnerable in the local community. It offers a bed, a warm meal and safe place for the night across Monday through to Friday each week through the winter months.
It aims to provide 'more than a place to stay' by offering guests a safe, caring, non-judgemental community environment to receive refreshment, hope and rest.

Role

  • Welcome guests to the shelter
  • Advise guests of health and safety procedures
  • Discussion with guests about expectations around AOD and weapons at the shelter
  • Perform basic risk assessment of guests in relation to potential harm to self or others
  • Join in mealtime with volunteers and guests
