After gaining International experience in predominantly O&G Ultrasound, I am looking forward to returning to work in my home country where I gained my formal education.
Many years of scanning lower-risk private patients enabled me to become very efficient at O & G imaging. My more recent years in a Fetal Medicine role have enabled me to pursue the challenge of achieving high quality imaging, in the setting of pathology and maternal complications.
While working at this clinic we performed high quality Obstetrics and gynaecology imaging with focus on the patient experience. I have become experienced with managing patients who are hoping to receive extra reassurance, enjoyable ultrasound experience along with high-quality imaging.
In this busy private practice I was able to become very efficient at managing my workload, maintaining a tidy organised scan room, ensuring that probes are sterilised and available, compiling reports with 3D imaging and generally being a supportive, hard-working team member.
Working at SUFW we provided high quality imaging in all areas of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, working with Specialists who were also based at RPA Hospital.
We received many tertiary referrals, managed many high risk twin and occasional triplet pregnancies, provided a daily, high volume follicle tracking service for IVF. First trimester pre-eclampsia screening, assisted Doctors with CVS, Amniocentesis, Hycosy and Sonohysterogram procedures.
I gave several power point presentations on various interesting cases which I had scanned.
I always made sure to build a rapport with every patient, gauge their level of anxiety and determine if they were suffering from any conditions where I may need to adapt my scanning technique.
In this workplace I became aware of the needs and responses of patients from multiple nationalities in the setting of high risk Obstetric ultrasound.
I was exposed to a variety of fetal pathology and maternal conditions and was able to learn from Specialist Doctors in this field. I learned to work on a wide variety of ultrasound machines including Siemens, Cannon and Toshiba.
In this Private Hospital position I was a full-time Locum Sonographer with mostly Obstetrics and Gynaecological scans with occasional days rostered to general and vascular ultrasound. We were expected to generate preliminary reports.
A great experience in various areas of Ultrasound on various machines, manly GE. I gave presentations to my colleagues on various case studies and had some valuable experience with working with a multinational group of colleagues and patients.
Duke of Edinburgh Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.
I was a participant in an AJUM published research paper in Sydney: Construction of fetal inferior facial angle and hemi-mandible length reference ranges at 18-21 weeks gestation in an Australian population. This was during the time I worked at SUFW.
I have current accreditation in Nuchal Translucency and First Trimester Uterine Arteries.
I also have experience with First Trimester PET screening.
