Irish qualified general nurse with strong experience in an acute general hospital. In 2019, I moved to the island of Malta and worked in the iGaming sector. I have now emigrated to Australia to return to my passion of nursing.
Started with Betsson Group in 2019 and progressed from customer support agent to loyalty (VIP) agent. I was then chosen to be apart of our Responsible Gaming Team In November 2020. My
duties included but were not limited to:
• Conducting in-depth analysis of potential problem gambling behaviours,
including underage customers.
• Outbound contact, including emails and phone calls, with customers to ensure
they are comfortable with their gambling.
Completed a one year rotation programme as a general nurse where 6 months is spent on a surgical ward and 6 months on a medical ward.
Surgical Ward- Edward Halloran Bennet Ward. This ward specialises in pre and post operative upper gastro-intestinal, breast and urology surgeries.
• Being responsible for and advocating for patients
• Preparing and administering oral and intravenous medications
• Recording vital signs
• Care of surgical drains
• Care of patient controlled analgesia and epidurals
• Care of feeding tubes and regimes
• Documentation
Medical Ward- John Houston Ward.
This ward specialises in respiratory conditions. These include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma and lung cancer.
• Being responsible for and advocating for patients
• Administering oral and intravenous medications
• Being able to use the Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BiPap) machine
• Working closely with palliative care teams
• Palliative and End of life care.
I have already completed 7 weeks in each of the above wards as part of my 9 month internship. January 2018- September 2018 Completed 9 month internship in St. James Hospital Dublin. 2x7 week placements were spent in the wards mentioned above. Others included:
• Abraham Colles Ward- specialises in orthopaedic surgery.
• Patrick Duns Ward- specialises in colorectal and vascular surgery.
During my time in university, I worked part time as a health care assistant to increase my nursing skills.
