Summary

As someone who consistently volunteers to help the school, it highlights my dedication and love for the community. As an After-school Tutor, I enhanced a student's understanding of mathematics, by adapting to their learning needs, demonstrating my adaptability and collaboration. By teachers, I am described as someone diligent and with a good work ethic, especially this year. This has lead me to gain a leadership role for year 12 at Brigidine.

Work History

Student Volunteer

Brigidine College

For school, I have stayed after school hours to run lighting, audio etc in performances and presentations. This includes open day, HSC drama nights, women in science night, music nights and the year 11 play. The most notable was the Kildare Ministries Conference, held for the teachers at Brigidine and 4 other schools which lasted for 3 days (other students had the week off during this time).

Doing this requires:

- quick thinking/ reaction as technical issues can occur, especially audio-wise.

- high concentration

- being punctual as it is important to pre-check all equipment

Hobbies/Interests

- Science: I became very passionate about this subject at the beginning of semester 2 last year, year 10, resulting in my grades being improved to 92% in term 3 and 90% for the final exam (highest in the class). I now take biology, chemistry and physics and have achieved good marks, such as 95% for my physics depth study on electromagnetic radiation. Studying is done out of interest over stress.

- Reading: I am an adequate reader and always have been since primary school. My focus has shifted from fiction to non-fiction.

- Puzzles: During free time, I enjoy completing sudokus and crosswords.

- Gym: It is my main form of fitness nowadays as it is easily accessible over previous sports.

- Army Cadets: It has been my other out of school activity since Term 3, year 10 and given me opportunity to learn drill, practise PFA and leadership.
