Summary

I joined the Royal Fiji Military Forces in 1981 and had been in the Army until reaching the retiring age of 55 on the 25th of September 2016. While in the Military, I had served in a number of Peace Keeping Missions in the Middle East. I had served in the following places; 1FIR (1st Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment) (UNIFIL) Lebanon from, July 1983 – July 1984, September 1984 – September 1985, November 1994 – November 1995. I had also served with 2FIR (MFO) Sinai, Egypt from, March 1982 – June 1983, May 2012 – May 2013. I also served in East Timor from, January 2000 – June 2000.

Work History

Platoon Commander

  • Defused hostile situations with superior negotiation skills
  • Performed reconnaissance operations in the East Timor jungle to determine the strength, weaponry and moral of the armed militia
  • Led an 8 men Special Forces team in combat operations, including providing tactical guidance
  • Patrolled areas and allowed restricted area access for authorised personnel, and
  • Served as a Platoon Commander.
