**This position is part of the Oncology Transition Support Program with 4 month rotations through Oncology Day Unit, Oncology Ward and Radiation Oncology**

• Delivered culturally competent care tailored to meet the diverse needs of the patient population served within the oncology facility.
• Enhanced patient satisfaction by effectively communicating with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Administered medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians as per local protocols and guidelines
• Developed strong assessment skills through regular monitoring of vital signs, lab results, and diagnostic findings to inform decision-making regarding treatment plans
• Monitored patient reactions after administering medications and IV anti cancer therapies.
• Gained competent skills as per local procedures and protocols in CVAD care and cannulation.
• Educated family members and caregivers on patient care instructions in regards to anti cancer therapy treatments
• Participated in evidence-based practice project implementation, nursing competency development and nursing simulation activities such as Oncological emergencies and Palliative Care (End of life cares).

• Preparation of IV medications as per scripts and Australian Injectable Handbook
• Monitoring patients for deterioration following anti cancer therapy treatments including neutropenia
• Familiarisation on EviQ website obtaining information on anti cancer therapies, symptoms and patient safety and handling

Within our scope of practice and under a registered nurse's supervision duties included: All clinical skills and assessments covered in previous placements

• Prepare relevant equipment for upcoming surgical procedure in consultation with the Anaesthetist
• Assist in surgical room preparation and cleaning after procedures
• Assist in patient education, consent and completion of online pre operation check list documentation

• Within our scope of practice and under a registered nurse's supervision duties included: All clinical skills and assessments covered in Clinical nursing placements 1 and 2,
• Advising patients to multidisciplinary community care team members, Safety aspects when working in the community,
• Providing Eviq Anti Cancer Therapy education information to patients
• Drug and fluid administration via IVC and CVAD lines
• Completing EviQ modules online to enhance knowledge of chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimes and cycles

• Within our scope of practice and under a registered nurse's supervision duties included: Documenting and monitoring patient vital signs,
• Mental health awareness and assessment,
• Monitoring patients daily observing for unusual behaviour and documenting in the patient charts

Within our scope of practice and under a registered nurse's supervision duties included:

• Documenting and monitoring patient vital signs, fluid balance chart and blood glucose as required into the patients' electronic chart in IeMR,
• Adhering to infection control protocols for hand hygiene, PPE and HCAI,
• Safe medication practices including 6 rights and 3 checks S2, S3, PO, topical and optic medications,
• Assisting in patient activities of daily living including, bed making, hygiene care, mobility and meals,
• Daily shift patient handover communication using ISBAR,
• Patient assessment for pain, neurovascular, cardiac and respiratory,
• Wound management using the Aseptic Non-Touch Technique
• Oxygen delivery and NGT care as required

Within our scope of practice and under a registered nurse's supervision duties included:

• Responsible for booking patients in for Telehealth videoconferencing consultations, including capturing, confirmation with telehealth sites, advising patient of appointment by phone or letter and billing capture of these clinics using Medirecords, MOSAIQ and HBCIS,
• Liaising with rural and remote sites to arrange the consultation and create effective Telehealth procedure manuals,
• Cold calling new rural sites and GPs sites to set up contact,
• Troubleshooting videoconferencing equipment if problems arise
