As a highly experienced vocational educator I have the skills and ability to drive current innovation practices to lead, design and deliver modern, strategic and progressive programs. I have been responsible for collaborating and driving essential program services for stakeholders across both the private and public sectors. In particular I’ve lead and managed teams in the progression and continuous improvement of entire qualifications essential to the health and wellbeing of the ACT community via negotiation with peers, subject matter experts, industry professionals and government agencies to deliver and report back on human centred initiatives for training packages. I have a desire to broaden my expertise and knowledge within the ABF Ideas Lab to achieve operational principles in alignment with the ABFs key visions. I will positively collaborate with colleagues using my highly effective communication skills and will use these to engage and encourage others to continuously develop and progress their depth of knowledge. My experience and achievements in managing the delivery of learning and development strategies in conjunction with stakeholder buy in both in the public and private sectors will complement the organisational performance needs of the business. Key achievementsI’ve recently joined the Service Design Capability Hub in the Department of Home Affairs. I was specifically chosen for this role due to my qualifications and skill sets. Since joining the team I have quickly established relationships with my team, branch, division and key stakeholders. I lead the team within a complex and fast-paced environment to design and deliver a tailor training program that teaches the skills, behaviours and approach to human-centred design. I researched ways that I could align this directly with the key priorities of APS Reform, putting people and business at the centre of policy, implementation and the delivery of services. Through this I have provided my team with support and guidance to meet my leaderships task deadlines weeks before set due dates. Following on from this we were invited to present our work to members of the change management community of practice with exceptional feedback via email to our peers. As a credentialed trainer with the Digital Solutions division for ACT health I researched and evaluated the needs of specific user groups during the development stage of the program and designed materials to specifically target the requirement of the learners. These development solutions were vital for the implementation of the Digital Health Record (DHR) training. I delivered essential processes to different qualification skillsets, including physiotherapists, nurses, psychologists, wards people and administration staff. My work had a positive impact with conclusive evidence via survey results, personal feedback from the Executive Group Manager at ACT Health and the successful execution of the Digital Health Record 'go live'. I’m an exceptional team leader who supports and understands how to motivate and engage a team into the creation, adaption and implementation of strategies relevant to the area. I carefully consider the context of the work that I lead and deliver, understanding the broader strategic issues and putting forward ideas for improvement through collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders. My experiences will be pivotal to enhancing a positive team culture, demonstrating my exceptional skills in fostering team environments to facilitate academic programs that support the Home Affairs mission.
