Summary

NESA Accreditation Proficient WWCC.

Philosophy I believe in creating a safe learning environment where the teacher is approachable, supporting and accepting. Where children feel able to take risks in their learning and not be afraid of making mistakes. Because that is how children learn.

Where diversity is accepted and respected. As a teacher I would cater for the individuals in the class, not just the class alone. As a teacher I will strive to Identify Students individual needs as students learn at different levels, ways and speed.

The atmosphere should be challenging, but fun and relevant too. My own experience in Primary School inspired me to become a teacher. Especially in the Performing Arts.

I am passionate about Music, Dance and Drama. I have conducted many choirs. Including Large choirs of over 1000 students in the lead up to the Olympics and at the Hurstville Music Festival and the Sutherland Shire Festival. I have over 32 years of experience in education and the entertainment industries including teaching,

My passion for teaching music and the Performing Arts stemmed from my early days at school. My teachers were positive role models and instilled in me the desire, motivation, and discipline to succeed in performance.

My accolades include winner of the St George and Sutherland Shire Public Speaking Competition (1984), dance choreographer and mass choir conductor.

My high-level communication, choreography and dance skills were also highlighted as a Dance teacher and Show Compere for the Ceroc Modern jive Company and multiple winner of the Australasian Ceroc dance competition. My studies in piano at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and Wollongong University allowed me to attain Fifth grade AMEB in piano.

My passion for educating students and the broader community in social responsibility has also resulted in my volunteer work with Disabled Surfers, Australia, Jump Rope for Heart and the State Emergency Services.

I believe I have the ability to engage parents/caregivers and the wider community to enhance learning opportunities for all students regardless of socioeconomic or cultural background and this has been demonstrated in various settings. This included curriculum development, developing and establishing policies, and the selection, supervision and training of student teachers in a school setting ,centre management eg in a Before and After School Setting and also in the dancing company Ceroc Australia.

I am a skilled Music Teacher offering 32 years of experience as educator, leader and performer.

I am hard working and energetic.
