- My first experience in education was being a teaching assistant in a small educational centre. This experience has sparked my interest in teaching because I have had the opportunity to closely observe how educators manage classrooms that are suitable for each age group and how students with diversity in their learning abilities and personalities develop through each class. I have gradually nurtured a passion for teaching and working with young children and began to explore and enhance necessary skills for this job such as focusing on my expertise field, improving my communicating skills and developing a non-judgemental attitude when working with children.
- In the next experience of being a individual tutor for children who need extra support for their learning, I had the chance to directly work with the children and design my own teaching method. I realized that as a teacher, I had to reflect on myself after every class to create the best learning experience and patience plays an important part in working with children.
- In Monash University, I continue studying about children and their development in early ages. I was introduced to various helpful teaching methods and experienced them since I worked as a pre-service teacher. I worked with other peers to design workshops for children to learn about art and Indigenous culture. This experience required teamwork skills and class management skills. Our group had successfully created positive learning environment for the students and received many good feedback from both students and their parents on that learning experience. This has been a big encourage for me to keep up with my passion.
