Khatha Ruangyuth

Relocated from Villawood, NSW, I found myself working the same role as Detention Service Officer at Yongah Hill Immigration Detention Centre(YHIDC). Initially started as a compound officer, then moved my way to security department where I became control operator, and finally became a permanent visits officer.

Started in residential housing where I looked after families of refugees. After major renovation, I became transport and escort officer at VIDC.

As a customer service officer, I worked in different compounds where detainees were being held at Villawood Immigration Detention Centre. My job varied from taking detainees to excursions, assisting them with legal visits, interviews, and medical escorts, property management and welfare support.
