I am a local Aboriginal woman who prides myself on my passion to make a change for our Indigenous youth through education. I am Experienced with fostering engaging and effective learning environments for Indigenous students. Utilizing educational strategies to enhance Indigenous student participation, attendance and success. I have a strong understanding of team collaboration and effective communication to support educational goals.
I am an Innovative Aboriginal Islander Education Officer adept at problem solving, out-of-the-box critical thinking and productive networking. I am highly capable of working in high stress environments whilst still maintaining professionalism. I am passionate about advocating for students and their families . I Collaborate well with teaching staff and Year Coordinators, Principal and Deputy Principal's to implement curriculum and programs within the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework to be accessible and inclusive of Aboriginal culture and students learning capabilities.
I have strong communication and relationship building skills which allow me to build rapport quickly, establish links within the community and proactively find solutions to barriers. I effectively provide mentoring and pastoral care to Indigenous students, particularly those at risk, I use discretion and follow school policy and report concerns to appropriate staff to ensure safety of the student and best achieve positive outcomes. I often apply learnt skills and life skills in decision making, problem solving and mentoring. I continue to strive to make a positive impact on our Indigenous students at Atwell College.
* Lead in the inauguration of a Reconciliation Action Plan at Atwell College
* Lead in the implementation of a Cultural Awareness Full day Staff PD at Atwell College to be presented by highly sought after and respected Community Elders Danny and Rose Ford.
* Implement and Deliver weekly cultural programs to students of all yer levels.
* Supervise students engaging in programs, whilst ensuring students maintain their responsibilities that adhere to College polices.

Supporting Aboriginal Elder’s within the community to engage with Moorditj Koort to access health services, engage clients with community service’s including physical health, mental health and general well being services and aged care services. Develop and Facilitate weekly programs for Elders and prepare and cook healthy lunches.
Support job seeking customers to gain sustainable employment through the delivery of the Department of Employment contracts and Jobs Services Australia.
Work directly with young people aged 12-24 years old facing social,emotional or economic challenges, providing support through case management and developing individual plans connecting them to necessary resources, advocating on their behalf and promote and support with positive life changes with the support of external community based organisations, schools and government agencies.
