Kiegan Parr

Templestowe,Australia

Summary

Hi, I’m Kiegan, I’m 26 years old and from the UK currently living in Melbourne , I’m on my first years work/travel visa (417) and looking for work to help fund my time here as well as get an understanding for Australian lifestyle. In my adult life I have only worked 2 full time jobs each lasting between 3-4 years, I am committed to the jobs I do and thrive on the ability to progress in career paths as-well as building relationships with the people I work with. Team work is important to me and I understand how vital it can be to work together to create real progression in any work place or business. I’m always punctual, organized, and like to leave the day in a place where I can pick it up first thing the next day with all work caught up. My people skills are great and enjoy meeting and creating new relationships and never shy to make my voice heard when I have an idea. I’m also competent using Microsoft excel as it was a major part of my last job in the UK, including basic knowledge of formulas, and importing data through excel. Using a computer became an everyday job so I’m confident in my ability to adapt to new systems.

Work History

Valet/Concierge Attendant

Scentre Group
Brisbane, QLD
12.2024 - 04.2025

This was my second Job in Australia and was for Scentregroup working in two different Westfield shopping malls.

I started at Westfield Carindale as a Christmas Casual only working as a valet attendant during their busiest period. During my time here I managed to apply all my skills from previous jobs to weather the storm of customers that would be coming and going, while presenting a great experience for all customers using our service.

After Christmas was over I was transferred to Westfield Mount Gravatt, a much busier centre with a lot more traffic flow and customers. I was situated here until April 2025, which was when I left to come to Melbourne. During my time here I was given more opportunities and responsibilities. Learning all the systems in place for the valet service and working behind the concierge desk which came with another set of face to face customer service. Some of the key roles and responsibilities I held while at my time here were as follows:

• Keeping the runways as clear and clean as possible to ensure traffic flow through the car parks was as smooth as possible

• Opening & Closing the Valet office/runway, handling money and preparing tills for the days trade.

• Learning how all systems worked so that any query or problem from a customer could be answered and resolved the appropriate way.

• Handling personal data responsibly and in line with privacy laws and company policy

• Getting extensive knowledge of the Centres that I worked in, including car parks, business’ in the centre, centre management procedures and fire training.

• Extensive radio usage, learning how to communicate through the radios to all staff members and departments, using correct terminology quickly and efficiently to solve any problems without the need to see someone directly.

• Ensure the all customers, whether using the Valet service or coming to the concierge desk, get the best experience possible from their time in our centres.

Warehouse Picker

City Beach Distribution Centre
Brisbane, QLD
10.2024 - 12.2024

City Beach Distribution Centre was my first job in Australia. I was taken on as a casual member to help keep up with their busy Christmas period that was coming up. I was only at this job for little under 2 months before I moved on to my next job. During my time here I learnt a new set of skills in a completely new working environment for me. I worked on the online orders department and my main role was to fill as many orders as I could during my shift. Picking upwards of between 12-20 full boxes a day. Some of the other skill I also learnt:

  • Used scanners to quickly locate and track items in warehouse.
  • Collaborated with team members to achieve daily pick and pack goals.
  • Met productivity goals consistently by prioritizing tasks effectively and staying focused during peak hours.
  • Enhanced warehouse efficiency by maintaining a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety regulations.

Showroom Manager

KandyToys
Exeter, Devon, United Kingdom
11.2021 - 08.2024
  • I started at KandyToys November 2021. We were a Toy, Beach and Gift import company that imported goods from companies around the world. Primarily in China and Eastern Europe. Then distribute the goods to all towns and cities around the coast in and in many inland city wholesalers, many of which in London.
  • I’ve worked multiple different roles for the company, I started on the purchasing team sending purchases orders to China, signing contracts and in constant contact with factories in the east.
  • I also did admin work for products e.g, updating customer prices as well as supplier prices and managed all brochures that our reps use on the road as well as update our website for customers to use.
  • My main role was showroom manager where I oversee 2500+ products daily making sure it’s as good as it can be for customers, replacing products when needed and keeping track of all new items that we introduced into our brochures and showroom. The stages of that being from factory samples, to a mocked up sample done by our designers, to our finished product, I also managed a second set of samples that we would use to take out to our external trade shows across various cities around the country.
  • I have 2 years experience helping out with sales when ever needed, I have sold at 10+ external tradeshows including the NEC spring fair twice and have always enjoyed seeing customers and building personal relationships with them.

Warehouse Operative

Sainsbury’s Supermarket Company
Newton Abbot, Devon, United Kingdom
09.2017 - 10.2021
  • I started at Sainsbury’s in 2017 at 18 years old on the fresh foods and produce team with my main responsibility being to make sure shelves were stacked and all food rotated before the store would open. I would also be tasked with disposal of fresh foods and produce to ensure maximum efficiency for any food waste.
  • After a year of this I moved into a full time contract working the evening shifts for the grocery/dry foods team, I shared similar responsibilities to fresh foods in ensuring stacked shelves from the days delivery and dressing each aisle before the end of the shift, leaving it ready for when the store opens the next morning.
  • After another year I moved into warehouse operations, while training on the side in shift leading for the evening shift which I had previously been working. When moving to this role I took on many more responsibilities. This included:
  • Using the baler machine that crushed cardboard & plastics into a cube to be wrapped and ready to be recycled
  • When delivery trucks arrived I would be in charge of unloading the days delivery and then loading it back up with the accumulated roll cages/pallets/food waste and the recycled cardboard & plastic
  • Breaking down delivery roll cages into aisle categories ready for when the night staff would arrive
  • Frequently make a sweep across the shop floor to clear any display cardboards lying around or debris in the way of customers or co-workers
  • Managing all this in a single shift could often be hard to manage for many reasons out of my control but it taught me to manage my time better and refined my decision making to make my work more efficient. I continued this role up until I left in October 2021 and enjoyed it but left to start a new career path.
