I have a keen interest in community involvement, which has allowed me to volunteer in many areas, from serving in soup kitchens to mentoring children I've done a lot of relief work with Samaritan's Purse in Australia and Mennonite Disaster Service in the USA As an 18 year old, I traveled overseas to the West Bank to volunteer at a home for children and young adults with disabilities This sparked an interest in learning Arabic and in teaching
I also have a love for the outdoors and for adventure I participate in a variety of outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, camping, swimming and biking Horseback riding is one of my favourite activities, and I have enjoyed teaching young children and teenagers how to ride as well
