King-Hong Chung received his B.Eng. (Hons.) degree and his PhD degree in the Electronic and Information Engineering form the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2001 and 2009 respectively. He has more than 15 years of algorithm R&D as well as software and hardware solution development experience in the field of signal processing area, especially in image/video processing area. He worked for MediaTek Inc., Taiwan, as a Senior Technical Manager responsible for developing various processing algorithms, pipeline architectures as well as features for the image processor used in various application chips such as smart-phone, tablet, surveillance system, virtual reality (VR) headset, video conferencing system, and TV. His research interests include demosaicing, re-mosaicing, image interpolation, de-noising, sharpness enhancement, high dynamic range (HDR) imaging, warping, image fusion, machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI).

- Conduct R&D on various cutting-edge image/video processing (both AI/ML and computer vision based) technologies/algorithms for the next-generation chip products, such as HDR, defect pixel correction, lens compensation, noise reduction, colour filter array (CFA) de-mosaicking method, CFA re-mosaicking method for the new RGBW sensor, Quad Bayer sensor as well as their variants, fusion method for the new RGBW sensor data, image warping, image interpolation and colour correction
- Optimize the algorithms to attain the best performance in terms of image quality, power consumption, cost (i.e. chip area), and scalability
- Design evaluation method and prepare environment setup for evaluating the algorithms in terms of output image quality, algorithm complexity and feasibility of hardware (HW) implementation
- Provide technical documents (including a US patient)
- Collaborate with other team member to ensure all the design and the pipeline running on chips with the expected functionality, quality, power consumption and speed performances (i.e. ensure the developments from concept to chip production meeting specifications)
- Collaborate with various famous sensor vendors, like Sony, Samsung and OmniVision, to develop new sensor technologies and applications for the next-generation products
- Collaborate with clients to develop new imaging technologies for their new/next-generation applications, like under display camera
