  • I currently work at GUAM as front-of-house staff during exhibitions, where I am responsible for reception duties and providing a welcoming, informative experience for visitors.
  • My role involves familiarising myself with the exhibited artworks and the intentions of the artists so that I can effectively engage with community members, answer questions, and respond to feedback and reviews.
  • I also assist with gallery maintenance, handle sales transactions, collect and compile customer surveys, and create video transcripts to support exhibition documentation.
  • This position has strengthened my communication, customer service, and attention-to-detail skills, while deepening my understanding of the gallery and arts sectors.

Secretary of Visual Art Sub-Committee|Volunteering

Brisbane State High School
01.2025 - Current
  • Since graduating from Brisbane State High School, I am currently in the Secretary role on the BSHS Visual Art Sub-Committee, and I am delivering volunteer services for the arts department on a weekly basis.
  • The Visual Art Sub-Committee was created by me and another alumnus as an opportunity to connect the community with classroom education.
  • Our goals are to engage community members and postgraduates with opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills within the classroom curriculum to broaden students' contemporary art knowledge.
  • This role has involved engaging with stakeholders, team management, meeting minutes, governance framework, and event planning.
  • Aside from this role, I have also been volunteering during school hours to provide extra help within the arts department, and I have engaged with both faculty and students.
  • Responsibilities have included coordinated administrative tasks, stock take, equipment management, classroom aid, and field trip supervision.

Tutor

Tutor2You
01.2025 - Current
  • As a tutor for both primary and high school students, I provide individualised academic support across a range of subjects, focusing on helping students strengthen areas of weakness while building overall confidence and competence.
  • I design tailored lesson plans that align with curriculum standards, and adapt my teaching style to suit each student's learning needs.
  • My role requires strong communication and the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, accessible way.
  • I foster a positive and motivating learning environment that encourages curiosity and engagement.
  • Additionally, I manage my own scheduling, coordinate with parents, and plan lessons independently, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
  • This position continually challenges me to think quickly, be flexible in my approach, and maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions.

Work Experience

Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT)
11.2022 - 12.2022
  • A weeklong program where I contributed to the Dynamic 365 Customer Relationship Management project, learning process management and skills required across the project through activities such as stakeholder matrix development, change management planning, and use case testing.
  • I also participated in meetings involving other teams and stakeholders, expanding my knowledge of business management and processes of real-world problem solving.
  • I interviewed information technology team members at DESBT about their careers, responsibilities, and different aspects of their jobs.
  • These roles included, but were not limited to: testing, project management, developers, solution architects, change management, and business analysts.
  • From this, I gained skills such as working in a team structure, stakeholder management and communication, IT focused thinking, and project management.

Tutoring | Japanese Tutoring

Brisbane State High School
01.2022 - 03.2024
  • Since 2022, I have volunteered in tutoring and marking formative papers during school-based Japanese tutoring classes.
  • Furthermore, since July 2023 until March 2024, I have participated in Students for Academic Success, a school-based program for senior students to tutor junior students.
  • I was mainly assigned to tutoring math, but I have also tutored in English and humanities.
  • I have strengthened my critical thinking skills, where I must make independent judgments while marking translations and student answers, and I have built my skills to communicate with others and teach information that is both informative and engaging.
  • Furthermore, it has challenged me to quickly adapt to different mindsets and learning styles for students who may not learn best in traditional ways, and it has strengthened my ability to provide comprehensive and individual feedback to students on what to improve and practice.

01.2022 - 01.2024
  • This leadership position requires me to participate in helping junior high students with integration into high school culture, community, and the working environment.
  • In 2022, this position allowed me to also volunteer in Brisbane State High School's Aspiring Minds program, where grade six students who had completed the scholarship entrance test could participate in academic enrichment activities.
  • This program was designed to help integrate them into high school through numerous activities once a week for two terms.
  • My role in this program was to supervise and engage with students in their activities, and mentor them over the period of the program.
