My main responsibility in this role, was to support the rregistered theatre nurses during surgeries by preparing theatre packs, assisting with instrument counts, and helping staff scrub in. I gathered additional equipment as needed, cleaned and sanitised the theatre between procedures, handled calls from other departments, recorded biopsies and samples, and documented key operation details for the recovery team and ward nurses
I have personal experience managing my own health. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2011, after several years of managing symptoms without a formal diagnosis. Since then, I have adopted lifestyle strategies that help me stay in remission, including dietary monitoring through meal tracking, stress management via talking therapy, and the daily practice of gratitude.
In 2015, I was also diagnosed with endometriosis following a complex cesarean section. Over time, I have learned that regular exercise helps manage my symptoms effectively, and I now rarely require pain relief medication.
In addition to managing my own health, I have supported family members through serious illnesses. Over the past two years, I accompanied both my mother and sister-in-law through breast cancer diagnoses, attending appointments with them and providing ongoing emotional and practical support throughout their treatment.
