I would like to express my keen interest and commitment to join your department with the lifelong goal of becoming a competent breast surgeon.
I became interested in the subspecialty early in my training and have been privileged to work at various prestigious Breast and Endocrine unit across Queensland, Australia. These rotations include the Robina Hospital Breast Surgical Unit, Princess Alexandra Hospital Breast and Endocrine Unit, and returning to the PAH in the capacity of Clinical Fellow after attaining the Australian Specialist Qualification (FRACS) in General Surgery.
I enjoy the various aspects of care this subspeciality provides, including the challenges of the multidisciplinary management of patients and the importance of taking meticulous care in all aspects of the work involved. I have been fortunate enough during my fellowship and post fellowship training to have had substantial exposure to not only Breast and Endocrine pathology, but also a wide scope of General Surgical pathology during my terms. I believe has provided me with a strong foundation on which to further develop and expand my horizon.
With the additional training in Breast Surgery, I will be able to better facilitate the attainment of safe independent practice in this field. As a motivated surgeon I will endeavour to offer my patients a holistic approach with a broad appreciation of varying aspects of their disease journey, as well as providing a long-lasting relationship with my community in the foreseeable future. I believe the Fellowship Program will further enrich my experience and skill set, and provide a solid foundation upon which to develop and nurture my future practice.
I am committed to continuing to develop my knowledge base and skill set over the long term according to the the fellowship curriculum, and plan to attend the offered breast oncoplastic workshops as well as breast ultrasound post graduate course.
