Joined HP as Level 1 engineer - - promoted to Level 2 in 2011.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Remote Network Support for HP clients, vendors like Cisco and managing services team with spanning Asia-Pacific, Europe & Middle East
• Configuration assistance.
• Network Troubleshooting.
• Device Syslog & Wireshark packet capture analysis.
• Train client/vendor on product knowledge.
• Take part in One-Lead program and create sales orders for expanding networks and legacy devices.
• The range of devices supported included all HPN switches viz. H3C & Procurve now being rebranded to ‘Aruba’.

Cisco's foray into technical support outsourcing in India was through Convergys.

Roles and Responsibilities: Worldwide network support for Cisco clients – Implementation, after sales support, trouble shooting and maintenance. This was my first stint with networking after attaining CCNA. I was a part of the Cisco Security team, involved in remote technical support for the following devices...

• Cisco ASA
• Cisco IPS 4200 Series Sensors
• Cisco PIX firewalls (ranging from SOHO devices like PIX-505 to enterprise firewall-PIX-515Es)

As a part of break and fix team we assisted customers with initial setup, device configuration, network issues and setting up of RMA for faulty devices. Detailed case documentation of research notes and findings was encouraged so that similar issues can be searched for, in the repository thus saving time and effort.
