The Maintenance Manager role at St John Paul College has given me alot of experience across many different sections within the College. Below are some of the tasks and responsibilities i have undertaken-
- 5+ years as a manager
- Working from an online maintenance jobs portal called COMPASS within the college
- Working in a college with 1100+ students and 100+ staff
- Conducting weekly meetings with the Principal
- Organisation of contractors for breakdowns and service work
- Annual compliance requirements for the college, eg TMV,backflow testing, RCD trip timed testing and thermoscan on switchboards, Test and Tagging, Compliance testing on Fume Cupboards, Annual fire safety statements, 6 and 12 monthly servicing of all fire safety protection, quarterly pest spray treatments
- Management of all waste services
- Management of college bus fleet- 2 X 25 seats 3 x 12 seats
- Working within a budget
- Co-ordination of quotes and managing building projects
- Liaise and work alongside building contractors within a school environment for major capital works projects. Over $25 million in projects have been completed here in the lat 5 years. Including a large 3 storey library, a large gym, complete renovation of 5 of our major classroom blocks, complete renovation on 3 of our student bathrooms.
- Insurance works program from the major hail storm, complete re roofing, as well as other major works
- Coordination and management of college CCTV network, from install to online management
- Create and maintain asset registers of all maintenance equipment
- Create and maintain online maintenance servicing registers
- Create and maintain servicing and maintenance registers for woodwork/metalwork machines
- SJPC WHS representative
- Coordination of quarterly WHS meetings and over see 6 committee members and reporting back to the Principal
- Maintain and update WHS policies within the college when required
- Coordinated WHS audit of the college every 2 years to maintain the colleges NESA accreditation
- Have dealt with Safework inspections throughout the college
- Management of external tree audits within college grounds and coordinate with contractors for tree removal
- Management of Asbestos inspections and reporting by external agencies
- Maintain college sewer and waste pump station
- Maintain and co-ordinate scheduled servicing of college air conditioning systems
- Maintain and coordinate scheduled servicing of colleges commercial kitchen
- Set up and pack down of college functions
