With over 11 years of experience in regulatory and quality control roles, I bring extensive expertise in food safety, cross-border trade, and quality assurance. I have significant experience working with Bhutan’s food safety regulations, collaborating with international stakeholders, and implementing quality management systems in the food sector. As a former Deputy Chief Regulatory and Quarantine Officer at the Bhutan Food and Drug Authority, I have successfully managed projects related to food safety, biosecurity, and cross-border trade facilitation, ensuring compliance with national and international standards. My expertise includes implementing systems such as HACCP, ISO 22000, GHP/GMP, and ISO/IEC certifications, as well as conducting training and inspections for regulatory bodies and industries. I have a solid understanding of SPS measures, and the challenges associated with trade facilitation, particularly in terms of risk-based controls, testing, and certification. I am committed to leveraging my skills and experience to improve Bhutan’s border management ecosystem, enhance trade facilitation, and strengthen SPS compliance for agri-food products.
