  • Assisting consumers with daily activity of living (ADLs) such as personal care includes showering, dressing, oral hygiene, nail care.
  • Assisting with feeding.
  • Providing ongoing care and assistance to a dependent person, depending upon the need of the residents.
  • Taking vital observations; blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations and BGL of residents
  • Uplifting resident’s mobility by encouraging exercise and supervising or assisting walking
  • Ensuring consumers privacy and maintaining their dignity and self-esteem.
  • Providing emotional support through good communication skills.
  • Documenting residents’ conditions in their respective progress notes
  • Attending residents’ pressure area care, monthly weights and urinalysis
  • Documenting bowel chart, fluid balance chart, behaviour chart, pressure area care chart
  • Working effectively with culturally diverse residents and co-workers
  • Reassuring residents’ family and dealing with their concerns within own scope of practice
  • Assessing residents’ condition within own scope of practice and reporting any concern/changes to the RN in-charge
