My objectives:
To become a more effective teacher and teacher educator.
To employ theory and knowledge to guide future action as an educator and teacher.
To become a more effective tool in the hand of Christ, the Great Master Teacher.
Responsible for teaching all History subjects (from Intro to History, Australian & NZ History, British & European History, Europe in Transition, Russian History, Early 20th Century World History, to USA in the 20th Century etc) to Education students with a major or minor in History, or as an elective.
Also taught several English subjects like Modern English Structure to Education students doing a major/minor in English, as well as Academic English to first-year students doing any course of study at PAU.
In the last three years, 2010 - 2012, as Dean of the School of Education, my focus was on ensuring that young student teachers were as prepared as possible to go out into the world, not only with knowledge to impart to their students, but also with the integrity of a strong Seventh-day Adventist young Christian to stand for the right under all circumstances, and thus be a light to lead their own students to Christ the Great Teacher and the greater Light.
Full-time lecturer teaching English to first-, second- and final-year Education students. As the Sonoma Librarian, I also taught Library Skills to final-year Education students.
Was Editor/Publisher for the Sonoma fortnightly Newsletter, Socol, and was Promotions Officer for the College.
Organized Sonoma's very first alumni Reunion, 2001, which brought back to Sonoma hundreds of former students from all around PNG, as well as a full boatload of ex-Sonoma students from Honiara, Solomon Islands.
Was on the Sonoma College Board for five years representing faculty and staff.
Chaired Administrative Sub-committee to review/revise Academic policies (2000, 2001). Helped with faculty in-service training with an emphasis on Assessment and marking (2000, 2001, 2003).
Taught Sociology of the South Pacific to Education Students, and English Methods to Education students with an English major.
Involved with the Extension Studies Department for ten years, being Chairman of that Dept for the last three years.
Full-time teacher teaching English and History at NZ School Certificate level as well as English to College students not doing teacher training or the ministerial courses.
Ensured the efficient running of the Food Services Department preparing three meals a day, 7 days a week, for over 300 students.
Principal of a Boarding High School: This involved ensuring the efficient running of all departments that contribute to the success of a Boarding High School. This included ensuring that the school was as self-sufficient in its food supply as possible, and getting replacements for staff or it falls back on the Principal's shoulders, which happened much of the time.
Full-time teacher teaching English and History, and also facilitator for Samoan language.
Full-time teacher teaching English and History. Librarian as extra-curricular responsibility.

Chairman for Extension Studies Dept, PAC (now PAU) for five years
Teacher/lecturer in Social Science area for over 20 years
In the 4 coursework subjects taken in 1996 (UNSW), results were three Distinctions and one Credit
Many of my former students have now become accomplished educators themselves or education administrators, but trace their success to the helping hand I gave them in guiding them, or re-directing them to the correct pathway forward.
Many Samoan parents credit the success of their now grown children to the discipline I injected into the lives of their children at Kosena, a short-staffed boarding high school that used to be at Salani, Samoa.
For 4 or 5 years while at PAC, PNG, I completed the translation into Samoan of The Great Controversy by Ellen White. Since retirement I have been able to work on the second edition of that same volume which was printed in 2015. The Signs Publishing Company, Warburton, Victoria, also sent me Steps to Christ, also by Ellen White, to edit and revise. That work was completed in 2017 and is ready for printing. The Samoa Mission at the end of 2022 has asked that I work on the translation into Samoan of The Desire of Ages, also by Ellen G White. I am currently (Aug 2023) working on Chapter 12 of that most inspiring book. It is hoped that these volumes will help many Samoans find Christ, The Desire of all ages and their soon-to-return Saviour.
The title of my doctoral research (1999) was "Factors Affecting Faculty Morale in Seventh-day Adventist Tertiary Institutions" which was published in 2011 under the title "What's Morale Like at Your Workplace?"
My unpublished masters project dissertation (1993, 63pages) was called "Distance Education and the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the South Pacific".
"O le Finauga Tele", the Samoan version of "The Great Controversy" by Ellen G White has had its second edition printed in 2015. It has 590 pages including the index.
The 2nd edition of the Samoan version of "Steps to Christ" by E G White is currently awaiting printing. Funding for this project depends on the support from the Samoan people not only in Samoa but more importantly from Australia, New Zealand and the USA. I am currently working on translating into Samoan Ellen White's "The Desire of Ages".
