Experienced Nurse Educator with a post graduate certificate in Emergency Nursing who upholds the values of Austin Health. I deliver high quality education and clinical support with integrity to ensure safe patient centred care in a psychologically safe environment. Worked 0.6-0.7 eft across all student portfolios in ED providing clinical support and education to Critical Care students, Transition to Specialty Practice students and Graduate nurses. Assisted the ED Education Team to facilitate study days for each student portfolio, Grade 2 RNs and ED CCRNs. Mentored nursing staff through professional development opportunities, enhancing their skill sets and competencies. Currently assigned to the ED TSP portfolio.
From 2017-2018 provided clinical support for year one students participating in the 2 year extended post graduate course in Emergency affiliated with ACU.
From 2011-2016 also provided clinical support for graduate nurses working on the Paediatrics ward, 2W.
Clinical Nurse Specialist in Emergency 0.3 eft. Served as a clinical expert and resource for colleagues fostering a collaborative work environment focused on on going learning and clinical growth. Worked 'in-charge shifts' managing staffing and patient flow.
Acting Grade 4 ED Educator position covering secondment.
Provided education and support to critical care RNs and grade 2 nurses. Developed career pathways and training opportunities. Ran advanced cardiac life support study days for adults and paediatrics. Co-ordinated the Emergency Short Course, in-service education and orientations of new nursing staff.
Full time CCRN working across all areas of the Emergency Department namely triage, resus and high dependency unit. Demonstrated a high level of adaptability in adjusting to fluctuating patient acuity levels within the critical care environment, ensuring consistent delivery of safe and effective nursing care. Served as a preceptor for new nurses entering the critical care field, sharing knowledge and expertise to facilitate successful integration into the team.

Consolidated undergraduate nursing skills and knowledge base in supportive, learning environment. Rotations included a General Medical placement with a specialty in Rheumatology and a 10 bed Geriatric assessment/ rehabilitation area and a Neurosurgical placement with a 4 bed high dependency unit.
