· Providing safe and compassionate clinical care toward patients across the lifespan, suffering from acute and chronic conditions. Attending to vital signs, ECG's, ADLs, obtained cannulation competency, phlebotomy competency, and PICC dressing competency.

· Complex discharge planning for long-stay patients, liasing with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Working along side patients family members to support discharges home, to promote patient independence.

· Detection of clinical deterioration in patients, calling emergency codes - such as Code Black, MET calls, and other emergency attendance as appropriate. Clinical documentation to the highest standard. Reporting clinical concerns to the team leader on the unit in a timely manner.

· Facilitation of nursing students from a variety of Universities and tertiary education providers. Reporting compliments and concerns to the Entry to Practice team.

· Team Leading for approximately 12 months, while activity seeking feedback from my peers to enhance my competency in this role. Managing and leading MET calls, Code Blacks and facilitating a team of nurses while on shift. I have taken pride in my progress in this role and endeavour to continuously seek out opportunists to grow as a Team Leader. One way I am doing this is by enrolling in additional training relevant to this role, such as Emotional Intelligence’ and ‘Managing Conflicts and Complaints’.
