I have been working as an Early Childhood Educator, diploma qualified, with the City of Greater Geelong for the past eight years.
As is common practice in many centres I have changed rooms every twelve months which has given me the experience of working with children from six weeks to six years of age. I am currently working as the full-time assistant in the four-year-old kindergarten.
I have a passion for early childhood education which is what lead me to undertake my recently completed degree. I will be looking at continuing my studies in the future with a focus on trauma-responsive education.
I am very proud of my Aboriginal heritage and consistently look for ways to teach children about the land they live on using local language and culture.
During this year circumstances have required me to take on extra responsibilities which have given me experience that will be needed when working as an Early Childhood Teacher in the future.
I am thankful for the opportunities that have been afforded to me during my time at Ariston and feel it is now time for me to take the next step in my career.
