Position Duties:

• General vineyard operations as directed by the Vineyard Manager.

• Vineyard establishment i.e. installing posts, running wires, laying out and connecting dripper tube, planting of young vines; training of young vines to full growth.

• Pruning vines

• Manual vineyard work such as wire lifting for canopy management.

• Operating a tractor and equipment for: seeding; spraying; slashing; flail mowing; trimming of canes; sweeping of canes and debris; fertilising; towing grape bins for harvesting; harvesting grapes; pre-pruning; general vineyard maintenance and other tractor operations as required.

• Compost operations if required.

• Environmental and farm works, including fencing and tree establishment if required.

• Operating ATVs for some of the above operations and for general vineyard work.

• Operating the irrigation system, including electric and diesel irrigation pumps.

• Maintenance of and repairs to vineyard equipment as required, or when

requested by the Vineyard Manager.

• Liaison with the Vineyard Manager to ensure equipment is available when required.

• Scheduling and organising major maintenance work on vineyard equipment, tractors, spray units, pre-pruners, harvesters etc.

• Other vineyard tasks as required
