I am a registered supply teacher working in the Redlands area. My main interest lies in Grades 2 - 5, with a passion for numeracy, a love of reading and an emphasis on developing reading skills in the younger learners.
I am a hardworking teacher with skills to step into a classroom environment and support students. I am skilled at maintaining classroom organisation and jumping into lesson plans without losing the forward progress for students. Committed to student learning and cultivating educational atmospheres while managing classrooms behaviours.
I have gained invaluable experience in the past 2 years having had exposure in various schools and school systems and being able to take on board those practices that align with my teaching pedagogy and practice.
I began working as a supply / relief teacher in January 2023 and completed 115 work days including a 4 week contract in year 1.
As a relief teacher my role day to day includes:
I currently provide relief services to Sheldon College, Redlands College, the local BCE schools namely St Mary MacKillop, St Anthony's, St Luke's, St Rita's and the local states schools - Wellington Point SS and Birkdale SS.
The feedback I receive from both leardership, fellow teachers, parents and the students is always positive. I bring a strong work ethic and dedication to the schools I work in.
As part of my role providing relief TA / SLSO services to a number of BCE schools I worked in various areas including literacy support, special / high needs, behavioural management, classroom assistant, one on one learning and inclusion. Part of the role was reporting back to the team leaders. I also completed a number of contracts during this time at St Agatha’s Primary School and San Sisto College. I have worked in all years from P-12.
In 2023 I was asked by St Mary MacKillop to complete a 4 week LSL contract in their year 1 classrooms.
Roles during this time included:
As part of my post graduate teaching qualification, students are required to complete 50 days (10 weeks) supervised practical teaching work at a school. I was accepted to do my placement at Sandhurst Pre & Preparatory College which caters for children age 3 months to 9 years old, my focused age group was age 4 – 9 years old.
I was at the school full time during this period and supervised by a qualified teacher and reported to the principals of the school.
