Work History

Customer Service Officer

Serco - Fiona Stanley Hospital
07.2022 - Current

As a Health Care Customer Service Representative, I handle incoming calls to the hospital, both from external sources and within the hospital itself. My responsibilities include transferring calls to the appropriate departments, as well as logging important tasks for all staff members. For instance, we meticulously log jobs for life-threatening blood transports and tasks related to surgical procedures. In addition, I document requests to move patients from one location to another, log jobs for patient rooms to be cleaned, meals to be ordered and more. Equipped with emergency response training, I adeptly manage high-stress situations when fielding urgent calls from within the hospital, understanding the critical importance of these responsibilities.

Additionally, I maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines and accurately record patient interactions in our customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Computer Work: Perform tasks on a computer, such as data entry and documentation.
  • Independent Work with Initiative: Work autonomously, taking initiative to address tasks efficiently.
  • KPI Compliance: Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by working efficiently and effectively.
  • Job Logging: Log various tasks, including room cleaning, food orders, maintenance, security, and patient transfers.
  • Doctor Communication: Engage in communication with doctors from within the hospital, other hospitals, and GP practices.
  • Life threatening Blood Runs: I will log jobs for life threatening blood runs for various locations around the hospital including for the theatre department!
  • Emergency response calls: With many emergencies happening around the hospital, we are the first point of contact. Emergency calls come through and we send these out to the appropriate response team rapidly with complete accuracy.
