• Provide direction, supervision, and guidance to the Blast Crew in the process of loading, tying, and firing large shots
• Shotfiring duties including magazine management, managing the loading, tying and firing of blasts, following drill and blast designs.
• Assisting with the training and mentoring of new team members.
• Operating our MPU vehicle and other associated blasting plant and machinery.
• Assist with the 'hands-on' delivery of explosive products down pre-drilled blast holes on bench.

• Adhere to and comply with relevant quality insurance and workplace health
and safety requirements

• Following of all lifesaving rules of Sibelco Global
• Report of all hazards/incidents & improvement opportunities
• Prestart checks and safe operation of all mobile/heavy equipment (Forklifts, Front end loaders, Skid steers, Excavators, Mobicon, Water trucks, Dump Trucks)
• Follow/Assess/Write site operating procedures/Job risk assessments
• Assess all risks before and during tasks with a TAKE 5
Loading of containers 20ft/40ft with bulk cargo, unloading/loading containers
onto trucks
• Daily checks and maintenance of assigned areas include: (MHF's) Multi Hearth
Furnaces, Vertical Shaft Kilns (VSK's), material sorting screens, vibrating
feeders, baghouses, screws, conveyor belts, roller mills
• Report any problems directly to the team leader or onto personal
maintenance paperwork at the end of shift and to the next operator during
handover
• Put in place group isolations for more than 5 people working on mobile/fixed
plant, put in place any permits required for jobs such as working at heights,
confined space, hot work & isolations
