Summary

I am a local indigenous man originally from Alice Springs. my working career started as a general tradies labourer and operating machinery. I was employed at the Barkly Shire as a Youth Sports and Recreational worker living in the Ali Curung Community. I enjoyed working closely with the community and primary school in the region my team and I would travel from Ali Curung to the other surrounding communities to facilitate sports and activities for the children in these communities.


I then moved over the the Department of Corrections in 2013 and started my career as a Correctional officer where i am currently still employed I have extensive experience in Corrections, and the court systems, adept in conflict resolution and mental health awareness. I am experienced with maintaining security and control within correctional facilities. I have utilized conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques to manage inmate behaviour effectively. I have a strong understanding of legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance and safety. I am experienced with youth engagement and mentorship, creating positive and supportive environments for youth. I have strong knowledge and understanding of cultural practices in the community and have assisted with cultural awareness programs delivered to staff and visiting agencies to the prison.
