Education sessions: Mental Health Assessment

• Providing education sessions to clinicians on Mater mental site, aimed at developing knowledge and skills in comprehensive mental health assessment

Mental Health Navigator project

• Providing support, advice and mentorship, whilst championing new role with psychiatric emergency service
• Liaising with stakeholders in multidisciplinary team meetings to assist in formulating business case for ongoing funding

Mental Health and Intoxication Capacity Assessment

• Working as project lead for mental health, with Calvary Mater Emergency Department and PECC to formulate an appropriate and effective tool for assessing impairment from intoxication and patient's capacity to engage in a mental health assessment
• Formulating training package for PECC, collecting feedback and reviewing efficacy of the tool
• Promoting collaboration between services and influencing positive change.

Towards Zero Suicide Advisory Group

• Assisting in the planning and implementation of initiatives aimed at reducing suicide rates in Hunter New England area health service including suicide prevention outreach teams, suicide prevention HUBs (alternative to Emergency department) and an improved training program for clinicians aimed at reducing suicides in care
• Liaising with multidisciplinary stakeholders, offering advice, support and guidance from an emergency psychiatric nurse perspective
