TasPorts is a Tasmanian State Owned Company with the purpose of facilitating trade to the benefit of the Tasmanian economy. TasPorts owns and operates 11 ports and Devonport airport.
Upon completion of my GAICD qualification, I was invited to join the Board of TasPorts as Intern Director to gain practical experience as a Non-Executive Director.
As Intern Director I am exposed to all Board functions including reviewing all papers and attending all meetings of the Board, Audit and Risk Committee and HR Remuneration Committee.
As well as being a valuable learning experience for me, the TasPorts Board have welcomed my expertise in culture, executive remuneration, and Tasmanian Government Business, as well as my unique demographic perspective.

The Clean Energy Council (CEC) is Australia’s peak industry body for companies working in the renewable energy sector. The CEC advocates policy at a national level and brings together its members to collectively address the challenges facing the industry.
To further my pursuit of a career in Governance I volunteered to serve as the Chair of the CEC’s first Skills and Training Directorate. As Chair, I have helped to set the agenda for the committees work, including identifying four key areas of focus for skills challenges facing the sector.
The Committee has informed industry, educational, and government policy in a number of key areas including workforce planning, diversity and inclusion, skilled migration, and the design of degrees and other qualifications.
