With a background in musical theatre and drama, my journey into childcare began with a role at Birthday Fairy, where I discovered a deep passion for working with children beyond the performative aspect. While continuing at Birthday Fairy, I took on a position as an after-school educator, managing up to 90 primary school-aged children in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This experience solidified my commitment to child development and led me to pursue further education. I transitioned within the same company to a long day care setting, where I undertook a traineeship to achieve my Certificate III in Early Childhood Education. In my first year, I worked in the 4-5 year old preschool room and subsequently gained comprehensive experience by floating across all age groups within the long day care.
Throughout my career, I’ve demonstrated a strong ability to connect with children, forming relationships based on mutual trust, respect, and understanding. My background in childcare is notably diverse, encompassing a range of experiences that have honed my skills. From babysitting and high-energy performances at Birthday Fairy, to managing large groups in the fast-paced environment of after-school care, and engaging deeply with child development through my Certificate III in Early Childhood Education, I have developed a well-rounded skill set. This varied experience has uniquely prepared me for a Youth Counsellor role on a cruise ship. I am enthusiastic about leveraging my extensive background to inspire and support children through creative and enriching activities in a dynamic and exciting environment.
