I am a passionate Primary School Teacher with a structured and organised approach to classroom development. I have a proven history of creating engaging classroom environments supporting inclusion and diverse educational styles. I am able to enhance student behaviour through positive and forward-thinking approaches. I demonstrate strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to quickly adapt to new environments. I am eager to contribute to team success and further develop professional skills, bringing positive attitude and commitment to continuous learning and growth.
I believe that my teaching career to date has allowed me to significantly develop my pedagogy skills, securing my abilities as an excellent classroom practitioner and supporting children to achieve the highest outcomes. My expectations for effort and behaviour are made clear to students at the start of every lesson. I have found that this creates a safe and happy learning environment where they can grow in confidence, producing a love for learning through appropriate challenge. The strong rapport I have with my students has been recognised by all of my colleagues and mentors and I feel that my students recognise me as a teacher that is fair with high expectations. I believe I am an approachable person and someone that students feel they can turn to with any sort of problem or concern.
I pride myself on my communication and interpersonal skills; skills that I feel I have developed to a great extent over the last few years. When communicating with students, I ensure that I am clear and concise, just as I would with my colleagues.
My experience of working effectively with a wide range of staff, external agencies and parents started with my role as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant. I regularly liaised with parents, the school’s Additional Learning Needs Coordinator, ASD specialists and Speech and Language Therapists. I have continued to develop my ability to liaise with parents and wider staff through experiences such as Parent’s Evening and meetings with external agencies.
Having moved from the UK to Australia in 2023, I have adapted to new educational environments and embraced the unique opportunities that come with teaching in an all-boys Catholic school. This experience has deepened my understanding of diverse learning needs and strengthened my commitment to fostering inclusive, values-driven education.
