
I am a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) of more than 10 years’ experience. I have worked in Public and Private Hospitals and Aged Care Retirement Homes. I have learnt to work in a fast-paced environment over the years. Assisted in covering AM and PM shifts with three registered nurses and supported night shift operations with one registered nurse. Managed care for one floor with 39 residents and collaborated with two registered nurses to provide care for another floor with 68 residents, ensuring each nurse attended to 34 residents. Worked across all shifts, primarily focusing on night shifts while overseeing care for 107 residents during those hours.
I also run a clinic every Tuesday for one of our visiting Doctors (Dr Inna Lieb). I would assess and collaborate with the Registered Nurses on each of the units and identify any issues pertaining to Dr Lieb's residents from medications, to their daily care needs, specialists appointments, results of their pathology and scans. Family and resident meetings. I would liase with Dr Lieb in the clinic and after her review and assessment of her residents. I would update each unit of any changes and further management.
My role as the RN on duty is to conduct comprehensive assessments on admission, documenting patient histories, medications and treatment with their GP, family and the residents themselves and initiate appropriate interventions when necessary whether they are on respite or becoming permanent residents.
I must attend to patient care plans and nursing interventions based on the residents cognition levels and individual needs and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and protocols.
