My duties are :-

• Wiring control panels for Hoists and Winches
• Assembling single girders and 2 girders cranes
• Assembling hoists from 50T to 200T
• Cable laying, testing and tagging
• .Trouble shooting and Fault finding on cranes
• Service of other electrical equipment in main and other work shops
• Quality checks on Cable sizing, protection selection, customer specifications and final layout
• Cooperating with the other departments like Boilermakers, Fitters and Painters on meeting customer specifications
• Notifying my supervisor on improvements and quality changes or diagram updates
• Reporting all progress to the immediate supervisor
• Installed, maintained and repaired electrical wiring, controls and lighting systems.

GreenFuel Processing Plant is the sole producer of Ethanol from Sugarcane processing which is used for Fuel Blending. It is responsible for the Generation of close to 5 MW into the National Grid from the Thermal Power Generation Plant fueled by bagasse from the cane mill processing plant My duties included:

• 33KV Switching and Communication with Mukwasini Transmission Substation and NCC on Synchronizing the 22.8MW GreenFuel TA to the National Grid through the GreenFuel 33KV Switchyard for Cogeneration
• Attending any and all Electrical Breakdowns during plant Operation and Annual Maintenance(Off-Crop) thus reducing down time and maximizing my Shift crushing production targets
• Training and Management of Safety for Assistances, Attaches, Cadets and Apprentices
• Compilation of Monthly and Annual Reports of old and New equipment performance
• Installation and Labeling of new equipment as well as Training of Operations Stuff on Safe Operation of the equipment
• Time and Value Management for GreenFuel that is to reduce re-works
• Maintenance of Electrical Motor Control Center Transformers, Shredder Motor(1MW 11Kv Liquid Starter Motor), Conveyer Belts Motors, Cane Mill Motors, Boiler Fans and Pumps Motors, Ethanol Distillery Plant Pumps Motors
• Installation of ABB and Allen Bradley PowerFlex Variable Speed Drives, SMC Soft Staters and other Motor Staters
• High Voltage Cables Termination
• Responded to emergencies and outages that required additional labor and assistance for repairs.
• Inspected power lines and poles for signs of damage or wear, interference, and degradation, and reported findings to supervisor.
• Demonstrated expertise in use of cable reels, stripping tools, voltage detectors, and wire and cable cutters to complete fast-paced work.
• Read and interpreted electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings and electrical code specifications for wiring layouts.
• Worked from ladders, scaffolds and lifts to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring equipment and lighting fixtures in ceilings, on roofs and on towers.
• Installed and wired electrical transformers, service panels, and circuit breakers.

ZPC Kariba Hydro Power Station is Zimbabwe largest Hydro Generation Power Plant responsible for the supply of 1050MW at maximum My duties included

• assist the Foreman with logging weekly works into the SAP system
• Domestic Installation and BOQ generation for the workers residents
• Weekly and Annual Maintenance of all equipment as scheduled on our work weekly tasks
• Annual Maintenance of the 6,125MW Generators in the Old Powerhouse including their Busbars, Auxiliary Equipment and the Generator 300MVA Transformers
• Installed the 2 new 10MW Common Services Transformer in my 4th year
• Wiring of PLC panels, Power Distribution Panels, Protection Panels, Lighting boards and Moto control Centers
• Worked with SynoHydro Contractors to install the 2 new 150MW Generators and 180MVA Transformers for the Kariba Expansion Project which i joined in 2016-2018
• Learned and followed latest electrical codes and regulations to deliver compliant electrical systems.
• Completed full apprenticeship program to become qualified Electrician.
• Installed new electrical components and fixtures safely and tested systems to enhance power flow.
• Spliced, joined and connected wire to accurately install new electrical systems.
• Optimized work readiness with organized tools and spaces.
• Inspected electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards and defects.
• Read and interpreted drawings to provide wiring layouts for new installations.
