  • My employment with BIG W Penrith began in 2019 as return to work mum after having my last child. Initially the employment was on a casual basis where I was working in a customer service role at the front of store, working in the check out and the self service areas.
  • From there I progressed to working across all other departments, such as the party department, service desk, home entertainment, cash office and then in to the online/hub department.
  • I worked for approximately three years in the online space and in late 2023 I was given the opportunity to take on a leadership role as the store support leader role which would allow me to learn many different components of the business, including safety and compliance.
  • Within twelve months and further changes in the company the Merchandise Leader role became available and I eagerly transitioned in to this new role in 2024.
  • Achievements Book Signing Event The Whole Truth by Jackie O November 2024 was one of the most memorable,challenging and gratifying working experiences of my career to date.
  • As the Merchandise Leader I was entrusted to plan the book signing event for Jackie Os book release The Whole Truth.
  • I was able to unlock my creative side and plan the entire event. This took many weeks of planning. Liaising with a wide range of companies on many different platforms, such as email, conference calls, zoom calls and in person meetings.
  • The marketing department, the publishing company, Westfields cordinators and their security companies. The event was a complete success.
  • I had been given a huge opportunity to plan the event down to the finest of details. From the colour scheme to match the book launch, to the foot traffic and bollard design, security personal locations, the location and merchandising of the product to achieve the highest possible stock turn over.
  • The feedback I had received was incredible. Westfields said that it was the best event planning they had ever witnessed.
  • Weekly rostering of team members aligning with the current CLR hours

  • Active member on the safety committee, which includes organising hazard hunts and Identifying safety issues which are managed through an online application
