• Set up and assistance with patient meals and fluids as per plan of care
• Assist in the collection and documentation of clinical data as allocated by a Registered Nurse and report all patient
findings to the appropriate Registered Nurse
• Observe patients physical and psychological status and responses during the course of interactions within
scope of knowledge, and report changes to the Registered Nurse
• Document all patient responses to direct care/assistance given, include in progress notes and clinical records
in accordance with the plan of care and organisational protocols
• Promote and maintain a clean, comfortable and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors
• Demonstrates knowledge of organisational policies and procedures pertinent to scope of practice
• Within scope of practice, reports practices that may breach legislation, policies and procedures relating to
nursing practice to the appropriate person.
• Conducts nursing practice in a way that can be ethically justified and in a way that respects the rights of
individuals and groups
