Machine Operator

Circle H Contracting
01.2017 - 12.2021

Relocated from New Zealand to Kalgoorlie in 2022.

Employed by a private contractor servicing exploration mining companies, where I operated loaders and excavators. Core responsibilities included clearing bush tracks for drill rig access, conducting ground rehabilitation post-drilling, digging and backfilling sumps, and performing a variety of loader operations as required on-site. Demonstrated adaptability and competence across a range of earthmoving and site preparation tasks in remote and rugged environments.

Operations Supervisor

Excell Biosecurity
01.2012 - 01.2017

Team Leader – Excell Biosecurity (Pest Control Operations)

Led a team of 6–8 personnel in the planning and execution of biosecurity and pest control programs across rural and alpine regions. Responsibilities included coordinating daily operations, liaising with landowners and the Department of Conservation, organising and overseeing the deployment of traps and toxins, and managing helicopter logistics including mapping, scheduling, and remote area drop-offs.

Strong stakeholder engagement was essential, with frequent communication and collaboration with local communities and authorities.

In addition, worked as a Hunting Guide, leading clients on multi-day expeditions into New Zealand’s alpine terrain in pursuit of trophy species including Red Deer, Himalayan Tahr, and Chamois. This physically demanding role required exceptional fitness, bushcraft, and advanced navigation skills, combined with a strong focus on client experience and safety.
