Summary

My long and ongoing career in education has given me the opportunity to work with many and varied colleagues and a vast array of students and families. It still sometimes comes as a surprise to me that there are adults within our community with their own careers or career aspirations, fields of study, families, businesses etc, whom I have had the privilege of teaching over the years. Students, young learners at one time, to whom I made a difference, offered hope, surpassed knowledge. As a Sunshine Coast adolescent I attended a Brisbane Careers Market and noted a sign, "I touch the future, I teach" and it sparked an aspiration in me... 28 years on, 'the spark' remains...

Maryborough West SPS: 2008 to present, Prep and Lower School.

I became an Experienced Senior Teacher during my MWSS years of service and in recent years extended this to Experienced Senior Teacher 2.

.* My years of service to the Department have included experience in mentoring pre-service teachers, a brief Acting Deputy Principal Role, QTU membership longevity and Representative roles, multiple professional development opportunities, co-hort collaborative planning, designing/creating report card comments, an array of extra-curricular activities and continuously working in partnership with parents/community groups.
