Work History

Customer Advisor - Specialist Claims Team

Based initially within the Catastrophic Injury/Critical Care team from November 2017, then moved to the Latent Onset team from May 2020.

Core competencies of this role included:

  • Establishing trust and rehabilitation planning with workers who had been seriously, critically or terminally injured, their families, employers and other stakeholder so that early intervention case management can commence
  • Sound decision making when considering rehabilitation needs and cost effective options for the injury and the impact of future premiums of the Employer
  • Identify, assessment and implements entitlements in line with current guidelines, policy and legislation in a timely manner to allow the worker (and their family) to focus on their recovery
  • Promote recover and return to work where possible

Additional Responsibilities

  • Monthly report to OIR against Stonemason Silicosis claim and more recently Mining claims
  • Assist with onboarding new team members
  • Assist with increasing capability within the team by completing peer reviews and providing feedback to and from peers
  • Assist with annual policy reviews that related to the Latent onset team
  • Assist with developing guidelines for both teams over the last 4 years
