Barista:
As a barista I prepared and served coffee and espresso-based drinks to customers. This involves operating espresso machine, grinding coffee beans and frothing milk.
Good customer service skills was a big part of being a barista as to ensure customer’s preferences are met.
Server:
Servers are responsible for taking customer orders, delivering food and drinks to tables, and ensuring that customers have an enjoyable dining experience. This role involves good communication skills, multitasking, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. As a server it was a must to be knowledgeable about the menu and any specials.
Kitchen Hand:
Kitchen hands provide support to the kitchen staff by performing tasks such as food preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of the kitchen and overall.
Supervising and ensuring safety:
Watching over them to prevent accidents and ensuring that the environment is safe for play and exploration.
Planning and organising age appropriate activities:
Creating activities that are suitable for a child's age and developmental stage. Activities can include games, crafts, outdoor fun, reading, teaching skills (letters, numbers colours) is essential for cognitive and physical development.
Assisting with meals and snacks:
Preparing and serving meals based on their ages, helping them eat and ensuring a healthy diet.
Providing emotional support and comfort:
Providing emotional support where needed whether it be comforting a child, reassurance or just being empathetic in general.
Helping with hygiene routines:
Changing children’s nappies, assisting with training for toddlers and teaching hand hygiene habits as they grow.
Communicating with parents and guardians:
Maintaining open and regular communication with parents or guardians. This includes sharing updates on the child's progress, discussing any concerns, and coordinating schedules and expectations.
