I Started In the workforce in 2018 and started off as an industrial painter. This included spray painting and mixing up 2pac epoxy and industrial paints. Started work for Calder Stewart and painted many jobs around New Zealand including Kmart Invercargill, Bunnings Wanaka and other big projects. In This job i also picked up other skills like sandblasting and arc spraying. I continued being a painter and sand blaster for 2 years then got given the role team leader. This job consisted of running the painting and blasting team making sure everything was up to standard and making sure everything hit guidelines. I moved from New Zealand to Australia in march 2021 and got straight into working over here. I started at C.E.A in march and stayed at this job till July 2022. At this job i was given the role spray painter/sandblaster and blasted and painted a variety of items including concrete trucks, 120 tonne silos and little silos, Big bins for the concrete plants and a variety of other items. I would also go onto site to help install the things I painted and this is why i attained my confined space ticket. I stayed at this job until July 2022 where i found my job at Australian steel coating. At this role I did all of the sandblasting and spray painting. I was at some times the only worker so there was a lot of pressure on me to complete every task within guidelines and also consisted of a lot of working by myself. I got promoted to the role Factory foreman and run the team when more people got put on. My normal day here would consist of unloading and loading trucks with the forklift that consisted of structural steel and anything else that needed blasting and industrial painting. I have many photos of all of my work that I have painted as I take a lot of pride and joy in my work. After this job I started at a more professional job at action alliance. Here I was just mainly a spray painter but I was in the process of getting my nace inspector but things didn’t work out. I was starting to do all of the paint quality inspections including DFT checking and making sure there was no missed or bad quality jobs. I was at this job for 6 months then got offered a job at cox steel coating which consists of mainly site work which I enjoy more getting outside. Here at this job I am mainly a spray painter onsite which consists of spraying but also brush and roller and mechanical prep work. I have been to many job sites around Melbourne including the west gate tunnel project, quantum, and many bridges. I have done day shift and night shift at this job and love both. I am still currently at this job
