Automation of Planted Forest Segmentation Using Semantic Logic

  • Using object-based image analysis was successful in segmentation of planted forest areas into individual planted lots, based on image patterns and tree heights. This required aerial imagery, terrain models, vegetation models - and required practical understanding of object-based image classification techniques and general forestry practices.
  • Final results performed well, having less than 5% error margin.

Practical Surveying Tutor

University Of Cape Town
01.2018 - 11.2018
  • Practical and classroom tutor for Geomatics and Civil Engineering departments in undergraduate survey courses.
  • I instructed and taught on mathematics and practices of surveying and advanced applications of GPS.

GIS Intern
