I have a Bachelor of Education degree in Primary School studies and have been teaching Year 4 children for 15 years. I believe that each year in a student's education is critical, in terms of the curriculum taught, how the students are engaged in learning, and how they are valued within the classroom context. For this reason, it is important to have the right people in a classroom-supporting each child, embracing their differences, encouraging them, and most of all, loving them through not only their triumphs, but challenges as well. A loving classroom where children feel safe to share their ideas is conducive to quality learning. Working in a school, my goal is to build good rapport with each child and recognize their unique learning styles. Taking an interest in the holistic development of each child in the class, builds relationships that are key to effective learning and teaching. Being consistent, reliable, adaptable and being a good member of the team, is important to me.
