• Experienced in managing various drains and devices such as Bellovac, VAC, Penrose, and pigtail drains.
• Maintaining skin integrity and monitoring wounds for capillary refill, colour, breakdown, dehiscence, erythema, and signs of pressure areas, particularly in flaps and full-thickness and split-thickness skin grafts.
• Skilled in managing different enteral feeding tubes, including nasogastric, Clinfed and RIGs.
• Experienced in caring for indwelling catheters (IDC), supra-pubic catheters (SPC), and performing manual irrigation.
• Competent in other procedures such as leeching for patients with venous insufficiency.
• Identifying and analysing patient health data, including recent blood results, vital signs, and medical imaging.
• Escalating care to team leaders and the treating team when necessary, always prioritising the patient's best interest.
• Medication administration via oral, intravenous, subcutaneous, and intramuscular routes.
• Knowledgeable in infusing various products such as blood transfusions, iron transfusions, and electrolyte replacements.
• Well-versed in different classes of medications, their indications, contraindications, and adverse effects.
• Documenting progress notes with relevant and important information.
• Always maintaining confidentiality and privacy in patient care.
• Adhering to workplace health and safety protocols at all times.
• Applying relevant PPE when necessary and maintaining hand hygiene.
• Regularly attending educational workshops and completing online modules to stay updated on new practices and maintain professional development.
