Teaching Philosophy

I believe that every student is capable of success when provided with high expectations, clear routines, and explicit teaching. My practice is grounded in the Science of Learning, ensuring that lessons are carefully sequenced, misconceptions are anticipated, and content is broken down into manageable steps to reduce cognitive overload. I prioritise regular checks for understanding, modelling, and guided practice to ensure all students can access and retain new learning. By reinforcing consistent routines and clear expectations, I create a calm and orderly environment where students can focus fully on their learning. I also believe in the importance of teacher collaboration and alignment, so that consistent language, practices, and expectations across classrooms maximise student success.
