After completing my VCE I studied primary teaching for two years before realising my career path was to be policing. I joined Victoria Police in 1995 at the age of 21. My values of justice, compassion, teamwork, and helping people really aligned with the policing role and I enjoyed my career. Among various roles across policing, my most recent was as a crime prevention officer, focussing on strategies and partnerships to prevent crime as well as focussing more on victim engagement.
I was awarded the Victoria Police Service Medal for 25 years of good service, the National Medal and the National Police Service Medal.
Over 28 years I performed various roles across Melbourne as a police officer.
Frontline duties, drug taskforce, sex offence and child abuse unit, family violence unit and crime prevention.
